Centre for Contemporary Photography Gallery

2004 - 2005
Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia

We were commissioned to re-house the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) in an existing 600 sq m warehouse in Fitzroy. The plan is a spiral of gallery spaces which takes visitors ultimately to a 'one picture' gallery in the centre of the building. In addition we designed offices, a retail space and a multi purpose teaching space for the new centre.
The project was partially funded by Arts Victoria and partially by private donations. We completed the project on time and budget and through good design and intelligent use of materials and finishes provided the CCP with a first class new home. The City of Yarra actively supported the project and now sponsor the digital artist's display window on George St. This project demonstrates our ability to work well with complex user groups, tight budgets, local government and the reporting requirements associated with state government funding.
